공익법센터 어필(APIL) 4기 인턴 모집

공익법센터 어필(APIL)과 ‘가치를 향해 같이 걸어갈’ 

4기 인턴들을 아래와 같이 모집합니다.

비영리 공익변호사 단체인 공익법센터 어필이 중점을 두고 있는 사업은 1)난민과 인신매매 피해자, 구금된 이주민, 무국적자 등 취약한 이주자들의 권리를 옹호하는 것과 2)해외 한국 기업의 인권침해를 모니터링하고 그 피해자들의 권리 구제를 돕는 일입니다.

공익법센터어필은 위 사업을 수행하기 위해 구체적으로 1)난민인정절차에서 난민 신청서 작성을 도와주고 난민인터뷰를 모니터링 하는 일 2)난민인정불허처분을 법원에서 다투는 소송을 대리하는 일 3)난민지원매뉴얼을 작성하고 난민판례를 분석하고 검색 시스템을 구축하는 일 4)프로 보노 변호사들과 난민 NGO들을 매개하는 일 5)난민출신국에 대한 자료를 리서치하고 데이터 베이스를 구축하는 일 6)장기 구금된 이주민과 구금된 이주 아동의 권리 옹호와 제도 개선을 위해 개인 진정 등 국제인권메커니즘을 이용하는 일 7)무국적자 보호를 위해 현황을 조사하고 헌법소송을 제기하는 일 8)인신매매피해자들을 지원하기 위해 그 가해자들이 처벌을 받도록 법률 지원 및 포괄적인 인신매매법 제정운동 9)작년 12월 29일 통과된 난민법을 후속작업 하는 일 10)해외 한국기업의 인권침해 상황을 조사하고 캠페인을 하는 일 등을 하고 있습니다.

위와 같은 일들을 함께 할 인턴들을 다음과 같은 분야에서 모집합니다.

‣ 난민출신국가정황(COI)에 대한 리서치 등 난민인정절차와 난민소송 단계에서의 법률지원

‣ 난민판례, 난민관련 주요 이슈에 관한 리서치와 데이터 베이스 및 웹사이트 구축

‣ 난민법 follow-up 리서치 및 무국적자 보호를 위한 현황 리서치

‣ 해외한국기업 인권침해 관련 리서치

‣ 아동성관광 현황 및 참여자 처벌에 관한 리서치 및 인식제고를 위한 활동

‣ (성매매/노동착취를 방지하는) 포괄적인 인신매매법관련 리서치 및 제정운동 활동

‣ 관련 국제인권 뉴스 및 아티클 번역

‣ UPR(국가별인권상황정기검토) follow-up 및 로비활동

‣ SNS 및 홈페이지 유지관리

‣ 홍보동영상, 인신매매 및 난민 다큐멘터리 제작

‣ 뉴스레터 및 기타 홍보물 제작 및 발송

‣ 회의/포럼 참석 및 관련단체 활동 참석

‣ 기타 비영리단체 운영 및 후원자 관리 업무

이번에 모집하는 4기 인턴은 2012년 9월 3일 부터 2013년 2월 28일까지 (6개월) 활동하게 됩니다. 인턴은 주 4일 이상 오전 10:30 부터 6시까지 일하게 되며, 무급이며 식사가 제공됩니다.

Advocates for Public Interest Law (APIL) Round 4 Interns Recruitment

APIL is recruiting for its 4th round of interns who can ‘gather values together’ with us.

APIL, a non-profit public interest lawyer organization, has two mandates: 1) protecting the rights of vulnerable immigrant populations such as refugees, human trafficking victims, detained migrants, stateless people, etc. and 2) monitoring the human rights violations of Korean enterprises abroad and advocating for the rights of those victims.

More specifically, APIL carries out those missions by 1) helping complete refugee status applications in the refugee recognition process and monitoring refugee interviews 2) litigating lawsuits involving the rejection of refugee status on behalf of the refugees 3) creating refugee support manuals, analyzing refugee cases and building a search engine system for such cases 4) mediating between pro bono lawyers and refugee NGOs 5) researching the refugees’ home countries and creating a research database 6) utilizing international human rights mechanisms to protect the rights of detained adult and child immigrants and propose policy reforms 7) investigating the current situation to protect stateless persons and filing constitutional litigations 8) providing legal assistance to victims of human trafficking to ensure the conviction of the perpetrators and enacting a comprehensive human trafficking law 9) performing follow-up actions to fully enforce the refugee law passed on Dec. 29, 2011 10) investigating the human rights violations of Korean enterprises in foreign countries and carrying out various related campaigns.

We are looking for interns who can work with us in these areas:  – researching the situation of the refugees’ home countries (COI) and providing legal assistance during the refugee application process and refugee cases  – researching refugee cases and various refugee-related issues and creating a database and/or website  – performing follow-up research for the refugee law and researching the current situation for the protection of stateless people  – researching the human rights violations of Korean enterprises abroad  – researching the current situation of the child sex tourism industry and the conviction of consumers, and raising awareness of such issues  – researching and helping establish a comprehensive human trafficking law that prevents sexual and labor exploitation  – performing follow-up actions and lobbying for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR)  – maintaining the web site and utilizing social media tools  – producing promotional videos for the center and documentaries about refugees and human trafficking  – creating newsletters and other promotional materials   – attending meetings/forums and events hosted by related organizations  – helping manage a non-profit organization, including maintaining communication with sponsors

Interns will work from Sept. 3, 2012 to Feb. 28, 2013 (6 months), and will work at least four days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The internship is unpaid and lunch is provided.
