Recognizing and emphasizing the crucial role of forests in climate action, the international society is gathering its effort to protect forests. Recent legislation in the UK which mandated businesses to conduct supply chain due diligence to prevent and monitor illegal land use for the production of forest-risk commodities imported to the UK. Legislations similar to the UK’s act are currently under active discussion in the European Union.
Advocates for Public Interest Law (APIL), Solutions for Our Climate (SFOC) and Korea Federation of Environmental Movement (KFEM) invite you to join us on March 23, 2022 to share a new research report on the Korean companies’ supply chains, with select examples from forest risk commodities such as wood pellets, wood chips and palm oil supply chain.
The webinar also aims to convene an open discussion among stakeholders in South Korea and Europe regarding relevant regulations and legislation to monitor and tackle deforestation risks in commodity supply chains in S. Korea.
